What we collect
Depending on how you use BRNIQ, we may collect your email address, age bracket, topic preferences, learning progress, and a device token so we can send push notifications.
Screen Time & app blocking
Which apps you choose to block and how you use them is handled entirely on your device through Apple's Family Controls framework. That data never leaves your device and is never sent to BRNIQ's servers — we simply have no way to see it.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored in Supabase in an EU region. We take reasonable steps to keep it secure and only retain what we need to run the service.
How we use your data
We use your information to run your account, personalise learning, track progress and streaks, and send optional notifications. We never sell your personal data to third parties.
Push notifications
If you opt in, we may send reminder and progress notifications. You can disable these at any time in your device settings.
Analytics
We record analytics events — things like which features you use and how a session goes — tied to your account so we can understand how BRNIQ is used and improve it. This data is pseudonymous, not anonymous: it's linked to your account internally, but we only ever look at it in aggregate to guide product decisions, never to single you out. We never sell or share this data with advertisers or any other third party. It's deleted when your account is deleted.
Region & country data
To understand where BRNIQ is used, we derive a coarse, country-level location from your IP address — never your precise location, and we never store the raw IP address itself. This is used only for aggregated regional usage statistics and is never linked back to your individual account in any report we generate. We never collect this for accounts registered as under 13, enforced both in the app and as a database-level rule that can't be bypassed by a bug or an admin mistake.
Children's privacy (COPPA)
BRNIQ supports an under-13 age group with extra protections built in. For these accounts we collect only what's needed to run the app, never collect country/region data (see above), and these exclusions are enforced at both the app and database level. Your rights (GDPR / UK)
We follow GDPR for UK users. You can ask to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To request deletion, email support@brniq.com.
